David Morris, better known as D-WHY, is a 25-year old American recording artist from Charleston, WV. In 2009, after graduating from WVU with a degree in Public Relations, he moved to New York City. In June 2011, he relocated to Los Angeles where he currently resides. D-WHY has been garnering independent buzz recently by releasing music that spans the genres of hip-hop, indie, pop and folk, and accompanying videos that are consistently shot in unique locations (such as Venice, Italy and Paris, France) and have in-depth plots (e.g., in "Flattery" and "New York Times", in which D plays a James Bond-like character). Along the way, he has collaborated with such artists and producers as Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, T-Minus, Casey Veggies and Curt@!n$, and become known for his personal style, as showcased on his lifestyle blog,

• August 15, 2012: D-WHY released his debut mixtape, 'Don't Flatter Yourself', for free online to widespread fanfare and acclaim. It became the #2 trending topic on twitter and catapulted D-WHY to #1 on Billboard's "Next Big Sound" chart.

• November 19, 2013: D-WHY released his first retail project, the 'Young, Loved, Hated & Broke' EP, on iTunes. It peaked at #6 on the Hip-Hop/Rap Chart and #20 on the Overall Album Chart. It also debuted at #3 on Billboard's Heatseekers Album Chart. From October 19 - November 29, 2013, D embarked on a 30-city U.S. tour alongside fellow indie artists Hoodie Allen, Mod Sun, and OCD: Moosh & Twist, in front of sold-out crowds ranging from 900 - 3,600 people each night. He plans to stay on the road throughout 2014 and is already hard at work on his next project, which is sure to only increase the rising hype surrounding him.

D-WHY's live show consists of D-WHY and DJ Etrayn, who is part of The DJMG (home to Mac Miller's DJ Clockwork) and an on-air DJ for Cincinnati's #1 radio station 101.1 The Wiz (in the future, D-WHY plans to have the support of live musicians as well). D-WHY headlined his own successful 25-city "Young, Loved, Hated & Broke" tour in summer 2013, as well as joined fellow indie artist Hoodie Allen as direct support on his 30-city "Party With Your Friends Tour" this fall in which he performed for crowds ranging from 950-3,600 person crowds. He has also shared the stage with Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Dizzy Wright and more.

D-WHY is currently in the midst of preparing future tour dates to stay on the road throughout 2014. He is getting ready to do a small run of holiday shows from December 26-28 in the Northeast U.S. with fellow indie artist Mike Stud, as well as join Huey Mack as direct support for his winter tour in January-February 2014.
